Job Description

This role is responsible for the oversight of reporting activities for Viacom International Media Networks (“VIMN”).

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact to the Regional Controllers and Finance Directors within the regions assigned to the role
  • Consolidation and review of cluster reporting deliverables (i.e.: roll-forwards and schedules)
  • Review and submit the Balance Sheet Flux Commentary
  • Prepare the quarterly clearance review package and present to the International Controller
  • Ownership of representation letter process
  • Review of cluster level balance sheet and P&L, discuss results with finance and work with GBS on any required adjustments
  • Partner with GBS on judgmental accounting issues and approval of certain journal entries
  • Review the statutory reporting process of the cluster (overall status updates and highlight significant issues) and validation of stat to GAAP reconciliation
  • Distribute closing schedules and set timetables for cluster submissions
  • Assist with issue resolution regarding payables and receivables
  • Maintain control around balance sheet reconciliations prepared by multiple parties
  • Monitor and report account reconciliations’ status and quality
  • Review and approve journal entries up to the assigned limits
  • Ensure that all relevant key controls are in place and functioning properly in accordance with internal policies and procedures and Sarbanes Oxley rules and regulations.
  • Work with external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews/audits by preparing information requests and addressing inquiries.
  • Review of corporate income tax returns and their reconciliation to G/L.
  • Assist with ad hoc Viacom and internal management requests

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • BSC/MSC degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 4+ years relevant post qualification work experience in a broad range of accounting functions
  • Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles, concepts and processes
  • Team player with the ability to work with and communicate with people at different levels within the organization
  • Ability to work well in a matrix environment
  • Ability to be aware of the audience and adapt message and communication style accordingly
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform effective work load prioritization and management
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a self-starter and take initiative and follow through
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and present communications geared for varied audiences
  • Drives and implements improved business processes for the business and within functional area
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to be thorough with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written & listening)
  • Business English (B2/C1 or above)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Outlook, Internet Explorer, MS Project, MS SharePoint)
  • Prior Big Four experience a plus
  • CPA, ACCA (or equivalent) a plus
  • Prior entertainment & media experience a plus
  • Experience in HFM, Longview and SAP a strong plus
