Job Description

As a member of the Order to Cash team:

OTC Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing collections of outstanding debt across European countries as well as developing metrics, reports and analyses to drive key business decisions. This position reports to Billing & Collections Sr Manager, Europe - GBS OTC Budapest.

  • Gather and analyze data as well as prepare reports aimed to meet cash collection targets (Aging, DSO, % of Overdue, Unapplied Cash, etc.)
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns for cash collections and forecasting purposes
  • Manage monthly performance results across collections portfolios to develop appropriate debt recovery strategies
  • Coach, mentor and develop direct reports (team of 5+)
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and motivate staff
  • Work closely with teams from different departments (i.e. local Finance, Controllership group, Sales, etc.) by providing periodic updates on status of outstanding debt and other ad hoc requests
  • Manage monthly bad debt assessment process
  • Provide regular feedback to management and proactively escalate accounts
  • Recommend changes in processes and/or policies aimed to the contribute to organizational success
  • Play an active role in coordinating and orchestrating month-end close activities
  • Provide backup explanations for AR balances to both internal & external auditors
An element of overtime may be required, particularly around monthly closing activities.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as collections manager
  • Advanced command of English language; other European languages are an advantage
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and functions. Proficiency at building macros preferred but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of SAP applications required
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Creative, responsive and adaptive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in multiple functional areas simultaneously
  • Excellent provision of guidance/direction/coaching to team members
  • Self-starter and able to act on own initiative; end-to-end ownership
  • Experience in global organization a plus
