POSITION SUMMARY: Perform a variety of custodial duties throughout the Distribution Center. Continuously clean the warehouse and specified office areas, lunchroom, restrooms, exterior grounds and other spaces not maintained by the nightly cleaning services. Stock appropriate areas with necessary supplies required within those areas. Complete daily and weekly cleaning checklists.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Essential Functions

1.    Behavior:  Exhibit team player qualities of cooperation and coordination; professional interaction in all business contacts, all day, every day

2.    Attendance:  Present for work when scheduled is a mandatory function.

3.    Safety: Your compliance with all company safety rules, procedures and guidelines is essential. Reporting of safety issues is mandatory.

4.    Inventory supplies necessary to perform job responsibilities ensuring that sufficient amounts are on hand.

5.    Replenish all restroom and cafeteria supplies as necessary.

6.    Clean and sanitize all restroom and office areas not maintained by the contracted cleaning services.

7.    Clean entire Distribution Center floor utilizing various resources to include a dust mop and floor scrubber.

8.        Dust all interior fixtures such as dock lighting, guard railing, racking and associate lockers.

9.        Follow and maintain “facility sanitation” schedule.

10.     Overall housekeeping of dumpster area (inside and outside).

11.     Dust or detail all interior walls, ceilings and fixtures for cob webs utilizing various resources to include a scissor or boom lift.

12.     Empty all warehouse trashcans and dispose of contents properly ensuring that all recyclable materials are placed within the appropriate containers.

13.     Clean exterior perimeter of building.

14.     Apply ice melt and remove snow / ice from walkways as necessary during adverse weather conditions.

15.     Perform simple building maintenance responsibilities such as light bulb replacement and minor drywall repair.  

Marginal Functions:

None identified.

Physical Activities: Walking, pushing, pulling, grasping, standing, stooping, reaching, talking, and hearing.

Physical Demands: Requires lifting bags of trash typically 25 to 60 lbs. from floor to waist; move between pickup point and dumpster, requires lifting and carrying of cleaning supplies (water buckets, etc.).

Visual Acuity: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Worker protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Worker occasionally exposed to extreme heat with temperatures sufficiently high to cause marked bodily discomfort. Worker exposed to sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Worker occasionally exposed to atmospheric conditions such as fumes.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge:   Requires HS Diploma or GED and the ability to read, write and interpret instructions.

Experience:   No previous qualifying experience.  Some experience in custodial work is preferred.

Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids: Mops, brooms, vacuum, buffer, floor scrubber, scissor lift, boom lift and any other equipment as required.
