Job Description

  • Lead the analysis and delivery of the organisation's migration from 32-bit to 64-bit COBOL and associated systems.
  • Provide technical co-ordination between Technical, Application and Enterprise teams.
  • Provide Development, Technical and Enterprise teams with technical guidance on application design options.
  • Define how Enterprise and Application components align appropriately.
  • Create and maintain software application standards.
  • Support teams in building reliable applications using appropriate technologies, languages, tools and methodologies.
  • Identify technical gaps, opportunities and inefficiencies within the organisation's architecture and the overall application development lifecycle.
  • Implement process improvements and provide alternative approaches where appropriate.
  • Reduce customisation of applications and promote reuse of existing components within ongoing and proposed projects.
  • Contribute to the future direction of ICT within the organisation.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience at senior expert or architect level within large-scale environments of comparable complexity and delivery scope.
  • Experience briefing senior stakeholders, including Board, CIO, CTO or CISO level audiences.
  • Experience supporting senior management in reviewing and defining strategies and architectures within the relevant technical domain.
  • Significant technical experience across all aspects of the relevant technical domain.
  • Experience planning and delivering complex strategic change initiatives.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work with IT teams, external partners and business users to understand requirements and issues.
  • Experience transferring knowledge and supporting capability development within technical teams.
  • Ability to provide technical support and guidance on complex analysis and incident response matters.
  • Experience managing standards compliance activities and engaging with ISO, internal audit, NIS2 or similar assurance functions.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within environments of similar scale, complexity and governance requirements.
  • Experience contributing to long-term technology strategy and architecture planning.
