Responsible and accountable for setting and execution the testing approach for both functional and non-functional testing for medium to large projects, interacting directly with the client and internal teams, including leading a team of technical testers to execute that approach.

Will be at least 50% hands on technical testing throughout the project.

Job Responsibilities

• Work with the client to illicit non-functional requirements and understand business processes
• Assess and understand the architecture from both a functional and non-functional point of view
• Decide on and execute an appropriate testing approach
• Will select tooling based on that approach and test skills within the team
• Mentor and develop others in the team
• Will set and measure internal KPIs on quality, to ensure that the team are performing and not building up technical debt (clean code for example)
• Whilst a technical testing leader, will still be hands on

• Extensive coding experience in C#
• Worked across a number of development methodologies (agile, waterfall, hybrid)
• In depth understanding of a customer facing environment
• Has led testing teams previously in complex environments
• A track record of mentoring and improving others
• Can set expectations for clean code and quality KPIs for the team
• Expert at identification of risks and how to mitigate those
• Has previously delivered projects from the start owning all testing elements
