Version 1 is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure, Platform Technical Lead and Solution Architect to work with our public and private sector clients.

The successful candidate will provide technical and design leadership to a team of IT professionals providing a range of technical expertise in the areas of Virtualisation, Container platforms, Red Hat Linux, and Opensource technologies.

They will be responsible for assessing, designing and implementing technological infrastructure systems to meet the business needs of our clients.

The candidate will also evaluate existing systems and determine ways to better align those systems to support business operations for increased efficiency.

The ideal candidate should have experience in delivering large and complex solutions and be able to assist with developing an infrastructure plan and roadmap that will continue to accommodate the organization’s future needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and solution design leadership to a team of IT professionals in the areas of Virtualisation, Container platforms, Red Hat Linux, and Opensource technologies
• Collaborate with our Enterprise Infrastructure and Solution Architects to turn the customers brief into low level technical designs and solutions
• Evaluate existing systems and determine ways to better align those systems to support business operations for increased efficiency
• Plan, assess, design and implement technological infrastructure systems to ensure they meet the organization’s evolving business needs
• Lead the technical delivery on a variety of solutions of varying scale and complexity
• Assist the Service Delivery manager with annual technical refresh planning and effort estimation.
• Assist with developing an infrastructure plan that will continue to accommodate the organization’s future needs
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure project manager to develop the required project approach, phases, deliverables, tasks, and estimates
• Provide assistance to infrastructure team in troubleshooting complex issues and drive towards resolution in a timely manner
• Coordinate with the Application Development Team on any cross-stream project issues or touchpoints
• Coordinate with Third Parties (e.g. Networking service provider) to identify project integration touchpoints and agree their scopes of work

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
• Experience in IT infrastructure solution architect and technical leadership roles
• Ability to quickly adapt to further new technologies when required
• Proven technical leadership, organisational, analytical, risk management, and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills - can describe and present complex technical concepts/issues to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in Virtualisation technologies such as VMware
• Experience with Containers and Kubernetes based Container platforms such as OpenShift
• Experience in Red Hat Linux and Opensource technologies
• Security conscious with experience in applying security standards (e.g CIS, NIST, PCI)
• Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Git)
• Experience in DevOps concepts and technologies
• Experience in delivering large and complex solutions
• Ability to work and collaborate with clients and provide technical advice and thought leadership on latest technical solutions and best practice.
