Job Description

The Accounts Payable team are responsible for supplier, contractor & employee expense payments for the Version 1 Group (Ireland and UK). You will be part of a small team processing invoices, credit notes and journals onto our internal finance system in preparation for twice monthly payment runs.  

The role at peak times can involve high volumes of processing against tight processing and banking deadlines.

As such the role requires a hands-on team player with excellent attention to detail and accuracy to ensure payments are made without error and on time.   

Ideally you should have some experience in a similar finance role coupled with excellent communication and team player skills. 

 

These responsibilities would include:          

  • Reading and understanding invoices and credits
  • Coding to the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Processing invoices onto our internal financial system
  • Checking processing accuracy
  • Correcting processing errors 
  • Notify any supplier account issues identified or bank details changes.
  • Identifying potential system/process improvements
  • Uploading financial journals onto our internal system
  • Dealing with processing enquiries in a swift and effective manner
  • Ad hoc month end tasks as required by the Team
  • Other general ad hoc tasks/projects as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, combined with excellent numeracy skills.
  • Be highly motivated with the ability to manage personal deadlines.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with relevant parties as required.
  • Proficiency in the English language is a requirement.
  • Have strong computer skills especially in computerised accounting software and MS Office.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a similar finance role.
