• Lead on the setting and enforcement of architecture standards and practices affecting integration of all new capabilities as well as impacting existing ones. Develop these standards in coordination with peers across the IT functions.
• Guide and manage the technical delivery of strategic programs.
• Work directly with clients, translating requirements into technical briefs
• Shape and define architectural decisions
• Design and agree integration patterns to support integration of new capability and solutions into existing core systems
• Ensure adherence to best practice and industry standards
• Architect and provide technical direction for approach for cloud/SaaS and on-premise products.
• Working with delivery teams in the design and implementation of core components
• Identify and resolve blockers before they become issues
• Provide reports to client and in-house leadership to ensure clear understanding of project status and drive good decision-making
• Research new technologies, including hands-on technical evaluation and POCs.
• Create and maintain documentation
• Manage and continuously improve the Architecture process and artefacts to develop a set of re-usable reference architectures and ensure these are leveraged wherever possible.

This is an oversight role, so you need to have a background in development that may include some of the following:

• Java development, understanding of Spring frameworks including Spring Boot
• Frontend development, ideally with the modern JavaScript Frameworks
• DevOps, including Architecture to Infrastructure development, CI and Tooling (AWS preferable)
• Cloud architecture, Administration and Systems Integration

REQUIRED SKILLS 

• Experience working directly with customers and users
• Be an excellent communicator and influencer
• Understanding of up to date software engineering technologies and concepts
• Be able to work under pressure and successfully manage a very diverse and demanding workload combined with an ability to work autonomously
• Be comfortable and capable of communicating with all levels of people within and outside the business, both written and verbal, and with a high level of professionalism
• Be analytical with a keen eye for detail and demonstrated experience in developing new ideas to improve processes
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
• Deep understanding of best practices, design patterns, open-source technologies and tools
• Experience in producing and supporting high quality architecture documentation
• Understanding of version control tools, GIT in particular
• Understanding of cloud technologies and modern DevOps
• Understanding of operational concerns (such as monitoring, performance testing, security considerations, accessibility, GDPR)
• Drive to deliver highest quality outcomes for our customers
• Empathy and people skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in information technology
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
• Demonstrated experience in both legacy corporate solution architecture approaches as well as experience pivoting to cloud approach.
• Knowledge of Technical Architecture, with practical experience of applying TOGAF or other architecture framework methodologies to IT
• In-depth knowledge of high-level Web Applications.
