We are seeking an experienced Technology Principal to join our UK Digital & Cloud Practice and work alongside our Digital, Data and Platform Practice Leads. Our Practice is expanding rapidly and there will be an opportunity for you to achieve medium and long-term career goals and also shape the Practice’s strategic direction in regard of technology solutions and service lines with a focus on Cloud technology (Azure & AWS) The role of the Technology Principal is to own and drive our AWS and DevOps capabilities both internally and with our customers.
This is a senior role involving team management, consultancy, and project delivery. Strategic Consulting: Early-stage consulting, advisory services, business analysis, technology roadmap, business process transformation, strategic planning. Architecture and Design: Requirements gathering, solution engineering, high level design, effort estimation, licensing total cost of ownership.
Delivery Management: High level design, proofs of concept, build and implementation, test and documentation, transition to support services.
Project Delivery: Automation and monitoring, integration, testing and release. Infrastructure management, continuous integration, and development. Technical Presales: Support sales teams, qualify opportunities, customer engagement, tender responses, customer presentations, new business development. Team Management: Recruit and build delivery team, establish supplier network, performance management, career path development, staff engagement.
5+ Years industry experience across architecture, engineering, and cloud technologies.
2 + years leadership experience; growing a team, managing, coaching, and developing junior members, including performance management activities.
Experienced in planning and delivering enterprise-grade cloud solutions/projects.
Ability to gather requirements, design and implement appropriate business solutions.
Track record in driving revenue opportunities, including technical pre-sales experience, tender responses, and customer presentations.
Understanding of the technical and business constraints in large-scale cloud projects. Understanding of how to implement mature DevOps tools and processes. Experience in overcoming resistance to change.
Ability to work well with customers and in a cross-team environment and to mentor within teams.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
Professional level AWS certification.
People management experience; performance management, workload distribution, team development, knowledge management.
Experience in other public cloud technologies; Azure, Oracle Cloud, GCP.
Experience in managing customer relationships and stakeholder management.
Strong leadership, decision-making skills, analytical skills, and documentation skills
Proven breath of experience and accountability across various types of technology deliveries e.g., digital transformation, app modernisation, product development.
Experience in managing and leading large / complex technical workstreams within multi-supplier engagements.
Practical engineering background - you can lead development teams, resolve technical issues, and prioritise non-functional requirements to ensure a successful technical delivery.
Able to establish excellence in technical delivery, identify and mitigate risks early-on and recover challenged technical deliveries.
Ability to communicate effectively and credibly with senior stakeholders, to negotiate, influence and shape positive technology outcomes.
Commercial and business awareness to drive business growth across an account, via pre-sales activities such as preparing and delivering presentations, writing technical and commercial documents and assist in project forecasting, planning, estimation, and delivery.
History of involvement in the tech community and an active observer of latest trends and technologies.
