This is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Microsoft Azure Cloud Consultant. A contract or permanent position, you will join a team delivering transformative Microsoft Cloud services for key Version 1 customers.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in architecting and delivering Microsoft Cloud projects. This role will primarily be focused on Microsoft Azure solutions, however may extend into other Microsoft Online Services such as Office 365 and EM+S.

You will be an excellent communicator, with ability to communicate technical designs, issues and resolutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.  You will have a strong experience with Azure migration tools such as Azure Site Recovery, Azure Migrate, Azure Data Migration Assistant and 3rd party migration tools.

You will ideally have at least 5 years’ experience bringing a proven delivery track record for enterprise level infrastructure and security projects with more recent focus on Microsoft Cloud platforms. You will be able to effectively collaborate with others, obtain buy-in for your delivery approaches and manage your own priorities and performance to deliver high quality, highly performant solutions to our customers.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Migration of Version 1 Customer datacentres to Microsoft Azure
• Customer collaboration on migration and discovery workshops and documentation
• Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions across multiple technologies such as Microsoft, Open Source and Oracle.
• Migration planning exercises and effort estimation for projects/ proposals
• Engagement with Version 1 partners such as Microsoft and 3rd party tool vendors
• Documentation of solutions (e.g. architecture, configuration and setup).
• Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology in a leading role as part of a wider team.
• Collaborate and liaise with other Version 1 and customer stakeholders
• Assisting in providing post migration support for customers
• Provide effective knowledge transfer and upskilling to relevant customer personnel to ensure an appropriate level of future self-sufficiency
• Transition of projects to Version 1 Managed Services teams or customer support teams.

You will have:

• Proven consultancy experience working for a Microsoft Partner system integrator
• Minimum of 2 years direct experience of large Datacentre migrations to Azure
• Experience of setting up, deploying and managing multiple environments to support agile development approaches.
• Possession of Azure Microsoft certifications.

It is essential that you have strong, in-depth and demonstrable hands-on experience with the following technologies:

• Microsoft Azure Platform as a Service products such as Azure SQL, WebApps, AppServices and FunctionApp
• Knowledge of Microsoft Remote Desktop Services and Windows Virtual Desktop
• In-depth understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, Azure AD Proxy and Active Directory Domain Services.
• Microsoft Azure Operational and Monitoring tools
• Knowledge Windows Virtual Machines
• Experienced in the design and delivery of enterprise level Highly Available solutions.
• Any experience of working in highly dynamic teams using agile methodologies under 
• Experience of collaborating and knowledge transfer to mixed customer and supplier teams whilst delivering to agreed timelines would be highly beneficial.  

It is highly desirable that you have good knowledge and understanding of the following platforms and their deployment:

• Microsoft Azure and 3rd party Security experience such as, Checkpoint, Fortigate, Cisco ASA, Azure NSG, Azure WAF and Azure Security Centre.
• Experienced in some of the following Data Protection products; Azure Backup, CommVault, Arcserve, Dataprotector, Netbackup, Veeam etc.
• Automated deployment of APIs via API Management / App Service and serverless solutions (Azure Functions, Docker etc)
• Knowledge of Linux Virtual Machines
• Knowledge of Web Applications such as IIS, Apache, JBOSS, Tomcat, Weblogic & WebSphere
• Knowledge of Non-Microsoft Databases such as Oracle or MySQL
• Knowledge of development platforms and languages such as .Net, C++, C#, VB, ASP and Java
• Microsoft Azure App Service Fabric, App Service Environment, Microsoft Azure API Management platform technologies
