Job Description

Version 1 has an exciting role for a dynamic and enthusiastic consultant / systems administrator who enjoys working with customers and internal staff alike. You will be a solid team player and superb communicator who can deliver excellence in both project and support work. Based within our Networks and Systems team this role is responsible for providing mainly Microsoft systems administration as well as working with customers to enhance current systems and develop projects to implement new solutions.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter looking to join a fast paced, multidiscipline team that provides project, customer and internal support at Version 1.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years’ experience in a Windows Server Administrator role
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and related technologies such as Active Directory and Group Policy administration
  • Good understanding of related software such as Exchange 2010/2013/2016/2016, IIS, SharePoint and SCOM
  • Experience of Windows Servers in a VMware environment
  • Implementation of Windows patches and upgrades
  • Experience of managing and administering 24x7 Windows Server environments
  • Experience of capacity planning, availability planning, performance tuning and metrics analysis
  • Experience of data centre management: server racking, stacking , cabling
  • Experience edge of hardware and Software monitoring toolsets such as SCOM
  • Experience of Windows server backup and recovery procedures especially Commvault
  • Experience of Window server security configuration and operation
  • Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex support and application issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to guide, persuade and influence others through proven skills of communication and diplomacy
  • Good working knowledge of a range of database management, server different operating systems and network configurations
  • Experience of Windows server backup and recovery procedures especially Commvault
  • Experience of Window server security configuration and operation
  • Good working knowledge of a range of database management, server different operating systems and network configurations
  • Knowledgeable on SANs and storage technologies
  • Experience with DHCP, DNS, RDS and Certificate Services
  • Some experience of IaaS implementations and Windows Server migrations
