The SQL Server Specialist will assist in the development and support of an extensive SQL Server estate which underpins the organisation’s critical functions.

The successful applicant will contribute to everyone's overall success by working as part of a team of IT professionals, undertaking SQL Server deployment and administration duties and contributing to project delivery and solution optimisation.

•  Support the Database Team Lead in delivering on project targets and operational KPIs
• Develop, support and optimise SQL Server solutions to deliver high performance, 24x7 availability and disaster recovery capability
• Support the asset management of SQL Server including inventory maintenance, warranty management and vendor support
• Administer SQL Server security in accordance with company policy industry best practice
• Identify, prioritise and resolve SQL Server incidents and problems through formal incident and problem management processes
• Contribute to the development of internal procedures, processes and documentation
• Open to cross skilling with other database technology.

• 4+ years’ experience in delivering and/or operating SQL Server environments
•  Effective communicator, both in verbal and written communications
•  SQL Server Databaes Administration
•  SQL server installation, configuration and upgrades
•  SQL server replication
•  SQL server backup and restore
•  Monitoring and trouble-shooting
•  Experience of VMware
•  Successful track record in managing enterprise solutions through their service  lifecycle
•  Strong analytical, trouble-shooting and problem solving capability

Desirable:

• Oracle Database knowledge,  Window Server, Linux knowledge
