Sales Executive

  • Full-time

Company Description

Following the supply chain disruptions of the pandemic, leading to shortages of everything from computer equipment to cars, the pressure on global supply chains has only increased.

For large companies, a single late delivery from a supplier can cost thousands of dollars in lost production time. Add to that new regulations across the world that are requiring companies to report on their supply chains upstream of Tier 1 to combat modern slavery, forced labour and climate change, and large companies desperately need a way to rapidly get visibility into their supply sub-tiers.

At Versed AI we help companies pinpoint risks in their supply chain sub-tiers with AI-powered supply chain visibility.

Our tech is cutting edge AI (NLP & ML) that surfaces previously-unknown supplier relationships.  Our customers use this insight to make better decisions and take meaningful action - improving their supply chain's resilience, environmental and ethical performance.

Spun out from Cambridge University, we have partnerships with SAP, Craft and KPMG amongst others, to empower clients with rapid multi-tier visibility.

Versed AI has backers including Cambridge Enterprise, Founders Factory, the Royal Academy of Engineering and Innovate UK.

Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic, action-oriented and organised Sales Executive to help manage and close our increasing volumes of sales leads through direct clients and partnership channels. Our existing clients include BT and other large corporates in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aerospace & defence, automotive and electronics sectors - you'll be working with sales leads from similar size and profile companies.

The supply chain visibility and risk management market is growing rapidly, and we receive regular inbound sales leads from direct and partnership channels. The Sales Executive will be responsible for managing these inbound leads through the sales funnel, focussing on maximising conversion and closing sales of both pilot projects and of 1 year+ data or analytics licensing deals.

From scoping the customer’s requirement through to showcasing how they can create maximum value from Versed AI’s insights, you will be responsible for leading communication with the customer throughout the sales process, conducting sales meetings, pitches and demos, efficiently completing actions to maintain momentum on sales leads and closing the deal.

You will liaise closely with the leadership team to ensure appropriate prioritisation of sales leads based on up-to-date CRM data and reports.

Qualifications

With multi-tier visibility being a new experience for many of our clients, we are looking for someone who is curious by nature, able to build rapport and trust with customers within large companies, educate them and steer sales conversations towards a positive, efficient and effective deal close.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to adapt your style to the customer and to use your intelligence gathering skills to identify budget and key decision-makers within the customer's organisation as well as critical success factors.

You should be passionate about supply chain visibility and its potential to help companies build greater resilience as well as do more responsible and ethical business.

Learning and iterating is at our heart, so we’re looking for someone who’s keen to learn about both Versed AI and about our customers, as well as provide constructive feedback to our product team about customer needs and objectives.

Experience in supply chain or procurement or B2B software sales is highly desirable.

Degree or equivalent preferred.
