Lead Software Engineer
- Full-time
Company Description
How robust are supply chains in this age of globalisation?
Recent experience shows not nearly enough.
In the last year we've seen toilet roll stockpiling at the start of the pandemic...
Semiconductor shortages stopping smartphone or electric car production...
Evidence of Modern Slavery in the fashion industry supply chain...
Myriad shortages caused by the Suez Canal blockage...
Container ships queued outside ports for weeks due to lorry driver shortages...
Warnings of empty Christmas stockings…
An imperative to reach Net Zero.
At Versed AI we're helping companies take action to address these issues with AI-powered supply chain visibility to multiple levels.
Our tech is cutting edge AI (NLP & ML) that surfaces previously-unknown supplier relationships. Our customers use this insight to make better decisions and take meaningful action - improving their supply chain's resilience, environmental and ethical performance.
Spun out from our CTO's PhD research at Cambridge University and backed by Founders Factory, Innovate UK, the Royal Academy of Engineering and member of Tech Nation's Applied AI 2021 cohort, we're now looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help us scale.

Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to drive the next evolution of our technology architecture, and lead the Development Team. Key phases of the evolution include expanding our knowledge graph, scaling our tech and transitioning from DaaS to SaaS. By enabling our customers to visualise and interact with their supply chain maps, underpinned by high quality data, they can come to better decisions, faster.

You’ll also be working closely with our CTO and Head of Product to feed back into the requirements capture and speccing process - to ensure that they maximise the effectiveness of each sprint.
This is a pivotal role in our team. We’re looking for someone with practical experience building SaaS to lead our skilled development team and build a game-changing SaaS product for our customers. We expect this high growth to continue, and you’ll have a key role in shaping the future of tech development at Versed AI.
If you’d like to make a big impact at an exciting, fast-growing start-up, we’d love to hear from you!
Your Responsibilities:
Develop the technology architecture supporting both DaaS and SaaS products
Guide the development of the SaaS product
Lead the development team during sprints
Provide feedback to the CTO and Head of Product to help optimise requirements capture & speccing processes
