OVERVIEW
CNBC is looking for a highly organized, proactive and enthusiastic Newsroom Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the International newsroom.
Working closely with the Executive Editor and newsroom leadership team, you’ll help keep a busy global newsroom organized and running smoothly. The role will provide administrative and operational support across diary management, meetings, travel, training, newsroom events and editorial projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attention to detail and is interested in gaining experience inside a leading international news organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the Executive Editor’s diary, coordinating meetings and schedules across multiple international time zones.
- Organize domestic and international travel for the newsroom, including flights, hotels, visas and itineraries.
- Support Newsroom senior leaders, Finance and Travel team to effectively manage the responsible use of T&E, staying within preferred suppliers or best value options wherever possible. Providing reporting and highlighting exceptions for approval before committing the spend
- Help coordinate newsroom leadership meetings, town halls, editorial planning sessions and offsites.
- Prepare meeting agendas, take notes where required and help track actions and follow-ups.
- Support the onboarding of new newsroom employees, helping ensure they have the information and access they need.
- Coordinate logistics for newsroom training sessions, workshops and development programmes.
- Assist with the organization of editorial events, conferences, summits and internal meetings.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for newsroom projects involving editorial, audience, TV and other teams across CNBC.
- Help process newsroom expenses, invoices, purchase orders and other administrative requests.
- Maintain newsroom documentation, team information, calendars and internal communications.
- Support day-to-day newsroom operations and help resolve practical or logistical issues as they arise.
- Assist with major editorial initiatives, newsroom launches and special projects.
- Coordinate logistics for visiting executives, speakers and editorial guests.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in an administrative, assistant, coordinator or similar role.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable working with colleagues across different teams, seniority levels and international time zones.
- Proactive, dependable and able to work independently when required.
- Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
