Job Description

Role Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the HR team as an HR Coordinator supporting the News Division.  This role will initially be focused on supporting our News Division Technology and Marketing teams, who support CNBC and MSNOW.  Specific groups may vary over time within the News Division. 

This position will perform a broad range of client support activities, including, Human Resources administration, and project work. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage transactions related to HRIS employee lifecycle (Hires, Terminations, LOA, Change in Pay, Promotions, Organizational updates, etc.)
  • Run weekly, monthly and quarterly ad hoc reports from applicable HR systems (SAP, TimeKeeper, Workday, Business Warehouse Report, etc.)
  • Process data changes, promotions, timekeeper actions, and termination paperwork
  • Assist HR Leaders in the handling issues such as benefits, payroll, disability, etc.
  • Prepare job descriptions for open positions, and post open jobs via our applicant tracking system
  • Respond to routine HR questions including, but not limited to benefits, payroll, vacation or redirect employees to appropriate contacts
  • Lead new hire orientations
  • Keep apprised & updated on new regulations, company policies & procedures
  • Timely and respectfully handling of employee inquiries
  • Participate in, and support key HR initiatives, including performance management, succession planning & compensation planning
  • Responsible for interview and meeting coordination, general correspondence, presentation preparation and other administrative responsibilities as needed
  • Maintain and update organization charts
  • Provide support in planning and implementing employee engagement activities
  • Coordinate and execute employee engagement and HR-related events
  • Act as a liaison with other groups
  • Work on special assignments and projects
  • Operate independently and make decisions on priorities
  • Handle and coordinate confidential information
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 1 year administrative experience, preferably supporting HR generalist functions

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in Englewood Cliffs, NJ,
  • Must be willing to travel for work related business as necessary
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be 18 years or older

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with HR information systems, such as SAP and/or Workday
  • Experience with AI technologies such as ChatGPT, CoPilot and similar platforms
  • Possess exceptional skills in running and manipulating reports, ideally using Excel. 
  • Prior media/television/news/tech industry experience or a passion for the industry preferred
  • Exceptional follow-through and attention to detail
  • Extremely flexible, highly organized, and able to easily shift priorities
  • Ability to resolve employee issues
  • Ability and willingness to take on the administrative duties, heavy workflow processing
  • Must be a team player
  • Customer and/or employee oriented individual, with strong oral and written communication, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage extremely confidential information
  • Possess a natural, yet professional ease at working with and relating to the needs of employees in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
