This role is ideal for a technically skilled production professional who understands fast-moving broadcast workflows, can adapt across multiple technical production positions, and performs well in live, high-pressure environments.

Why This Role Matters: The Technical Associate helps ensure CNBC programming is executed smoothly, accurately, and reliably across platforms. By supporting critical studio and control room operations, this role directly contributes to the quality, speed, and consistency of CNBC’s production output.

This freelance role requires flexibility to work all hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Execute a range of technical production roles for live, taped, and streaming CNBC programming, supporting both studio and control room operations.
  • Operate and support production workflows across stage management, jib camera, pedestal camera, robotic camera, teleprompter, clip playback, video shading, and studio video wall operations.
  • Support asset creation and technical execution using PC-based systems and production tools.
  • Contribute to AR/NCam and remote robotic camera workflows as needed.
  • Troubleshoot technical and production challenges in real time with a calm, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Partner closely with producers, directors, technical teams, and studio crew to deliver high-quality programming in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • Experience working in a live broadcast or technical production environment.
  • Familiarity with studio, control room, and production workflows from asset creation through final execution.
  • Working knowledge of technical production roles such as stage management, jib camera, pedestal camera, teleprompter, clip playback, video shading, robotic camera control, studio video wall operations, and AR/NCam.
  • Strong PC literacy and comfort learning new production technologies.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively under pressure.
  • Creative troubleshooting skills and sound judgment in fast-paced production environments.

You will be successful in this role by demonstrating Versant’s “How We Do It” behaviors: building Trust through reliable execution, practicing Teamwork with production partners, bringing Transparency to communication and issue escalation, showing Agility in changing live production conditions, and approaching new technology and problem-solving with Entrepreneurial Spirit.

Bonus points if you have a BA degree or college-level equivalent experience, experience across multiple live production roles, or exposure to AR/NCam, remote robotic camera operations, or advanced studio video wall workflows.
