Job Description
Versant’s Software Engineering team provides core services to our business, underpinning our strategy and execution of linear & digital distribution of content, platforms, and data. As a leader of our engineering quality assurance team, you will have a direct role in defining our roadmap towards our future vision in the media landscape.
The SDET role is a test engineering team member responsible for the implementation of testing behaviors and release management of VERSANT’s core platform ecosystem across data management, scheduling platforms, linear & digital distribution, and AI enriched automations and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Test Automation
Define and implement standards for test execution across service stack in critical business applications supporting public facing sites & apps, internal tools, and backend services.
Collaborate closely with Product Management to align on task acceptance criteria, and maintain feature level tests as well as broader regression suites.
Implement testing patterns for use in test automation flows, and manage gating & CI/CD procedures for test approvals as part of broader release strategies.
Contribute to automation frameworks and tooling, encompassing both UI and API related testing capabilities.
Implement smoke testing, regression testing, and broader testing harness capabilities for internal data services & backend API resources.
Provide feedback to product owners and engineering resources to improve testing behaviors, elaborate on acceptance criteria, and ensure collaboration across team capabilities to enable continuous release processes.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance in digital platforms, with experience in Media & Software a plus
Proven track record in software testing & automation, with technical experience and understanding of CI/CD processes and workflows.
Experience collaborating in fast-paced, agile environments with a focus on communication & collaboration.
Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks, such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, etc.
Understanding of software development lifecycle in cloud environments with a focus on enterprise application support.
Strong communication & collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
