Job Description
The News Analytics team is looking for a Manager who will be responsible for analyzing, synthesizing, and visualizing data insights across linear and digital platforms for CNBC. The Manager will report to the Senior Director of News Analytics within the company’s Content and Audience Analytics team.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with Nielsen TV ratings and experience with digital video analytics reporting. They should be passionate about delivering data-driven insights to inform and influence key stakeholders across the business (programming, editorial, finance, marketing, press, etc.). An interest in business and financial news is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret viewership data to unearth trends and insights that inform business decisions across multiple departments
- Leverage data visualization tools and techniques to highlight the performance of CNBC and competitors against key performance indicators
- Synthesize multiple data sets, including Nielsen ratings, to distinguish trends from sample noise
- Oversee standardized reporting and ad hoc analyses that align with business goals
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of programming on CNBC and competitive networks
- Forecast both linear and non-linear viewership during key estimate cycles
- Participate in strategy sessions focused on expanding the network’s reach and maximizing viewer engagement and retention
- Pursue new, creative approaches to audience insight and data visualization with automation
- Partner with teams across the organization, including programming, marketing, communications, business development, and finance, in addition to collaborating with research colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in media/business or a quantitative area of study (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or computer science)
- 4+ years of experience in audience research for a media company, streaming service, advertising agency, or vendor
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail, accountability, and ability to execute projects of all sizes with vision and purpose
- Superlative oral and written communication skills
- Expertise working with Nielsen Systems (NPower, NNTV) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Domo)
- Exceptional Excel and Power Point skills
- Experience with digital video reporting (YouTube Analytics, Adobe)
Desired Characteristics:
- Ability to manipulate, visualize, and combine data with tools and languages like SQL, Python, and R

Additional Information:
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Subject to change based on business need. This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000 (bonus eligible)
