Job Description
MS NOW is looking for an experienced Coordinating Weekend Digital Platforms Producer.
This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work across MS NOW platforms including linear, digital, streaming and direct to consumer to assign and create content that aligns with the brand identity of MS NOW
- Serve as weekend shift leader for the team curating MS NOW’s digital platforms with a specific focus on homepage and app curation, headlines, alerts and the soon-to-launch direct to consumer product
- Act as a primary liaison between the direct-to-consumer team and the platforms team, facilitating communication and aligning goals
- Ensure a lively mix of content and distribute that content across platforms, including to social media and partners
- Strategize with analytics and SEO teams to lead decision making on the programming of our digital platforms
- Work on long-term planning for special events and projects
- Balance day-to-day (and sometimes hour-by-hour) decision making with bigger-picture priorities
- Oversee A/B testing of story packaging elements with an eye toward continuous improvement
- Manage other digital producers but be ready to jump in directly when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience in digital journalism or cable news
- Thorough knowledge of current events, U.S. politics, geopolitics, foreign policy and history
- Sound journalistic judgment
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines
- Experience working in social media editorial or publishing, with a knowledge of what works and doesn’t for different platforms
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in Washington, D.C. or New York City
- Must be willing to work weekends
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

Salary Range: $115,000 – $150,000
