Job Description

OVERVIEW

This is an exciting FTC opportunity through until 1 November 2026. The Reporter, working across multiple platforms in London, is responsible for generating enterprise business stories and delivering these on TV, digital and social platforms. He/she is expected to news-gather, build relationships internally and externally, write and produce key business stories and front the delivery for all platforms. Experience in beat reporting is essential, as the Reporter will lead the development of an editorial area for CNBC, acting as the face of CNBC on a certain subject. The Reporter will also be expected to build up contacts and a network of sources to be able to develop proprietary stories that are unique to CNBC.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as lead Reporter across TV, digital and social for an area/beat determined by the Head of TV News
  • News-gather and develop stories for on-air and digital platforms
  • Write digital pieces for publication on CNBC.com
  • Conduct live hits/conversations on CNBC shows on beat subject matter
  • Work with newsroom management team to drive daily editorial agenda for CNBC shows and digital
  • Produce and/or report stories from the field
  • Write clean, clear and accurate news copy
  • Develop financial and business news knowledge
  • Contribute and develop story ideas and develop and invite guests to CNBC shows
  • Develop sources and generate independent reporting
  • Work closely with each member of production team (TV, Digital and Social), news editors, other anchors, reporters and correspondents, and operations staff.
  • Participate in planning, production and execution of shows, jumping in to help in whatever capacity is needed.
  • Work with the company’s marketing department as requested to promote CNBC
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in news as a reporter
  • Experience of story-telling on multiple platforms
  • Proven ability to report on live, breaking news 
  • Ability to handle deadline pressure and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of business news, financial markets and global current affairs
  • Working knowledge of key newsroom systems and applications
  • Languages: Fluent in English, other European languages helpful
