Job Description
Become a member of the growing EES software development team responsible for EES’s flagship SaaS Solution. Our data-rich products deploy a host of cutting-edge technologies to build high-performance and scalable products in AWS Cloud. As an experienced senior software engineer you will be responsible for designing and building solutions and components using JavaScript frameworks, Python, AWS technologies (Redshift, Aurora, Glue etc.) and other technologies for enterprise scale multi-user applications.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to middleware solutions using Python, AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and .NET Core for scalability and efficiency.
- Develop cloud-based web applications for the insurance industry, focusing on architecture, network setup, site layout, user interface, database design, workflows, graphics, and testing.
- Proficiency in AWS services like Lambda, EC2, S3, and IAM for deploying and managing applications.
- Excellent programming skills in Python with the ability to develop, maintain, and debug Python-based applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
- Develop, maintain, and debug applications using .NET Core, C#/Java, and Python.
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to PostgreSQL, AWS, and Python.
- Design and implement risk management business functionality and in-database analytics.
- Identify complex data problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and design and implement solutions.
- Develop REST API.
- Design and develop functional and responsive web applications by collaborating with other engineers in the Agile team.
- Proficiency in performance tuning and troubleshooting within middleware environments.
- Strong understanding of RDBMS concepts in middleware contexts.
- Expertise in object-oriented programming
- Collaborate effectively with project stakeholders outside of Dev. group, especially with Product Management on feature requirements and project schedules.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in development of commercial-grade software products.
- 3+ years of Experience with AWS technologies (AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, S3,)
- 3+ years of proven experience in developing and supporting applications using .NET Core, C# and Python.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Strong understanding of AWS services and infrastructure, deploying and managing applications on AWS.
- Experience with Angular/React is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Agile processes and best practices.
- Knowledge of the latest technologies and trends.
- Ability to develop use cases for business requirements.
- Effective collaboration with stakeholders, especially Product Management, on feature requirements and project schedules.
- Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiasm, energy, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Fast learner, keen to learn, and ensure software adherence to established architecture, design, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- B.S. in Math, EE, CS or Software Engineering; M.S preferred.
