Job Description

Come join our corporate Finance team in our Jersey City, NJ office where we have a flexible hybrid work model (2-3 days in-office, 2-3 days remote per week).

Analyze, Plan, and Present:

  • Support the decision-making process by delivering accurate and timely data, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Analyze revenue and expense trends, including comparison of actual results to budget, forecast, and prior year
  • Support the strategic planning process (includes multi-year plans, budgets, and quarterly forecasts) and coordination of related business presentations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of forecast models and methodologies.
  • Provide routine and ad-hoc financial reporting to facilitate understanding of results in achieving company goals.
  • Support the creation of presentations to Investors, the Board of Directors, and Senior Management
  • Continuously improve financial reporting and produce monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports for senior leaders

Partner and Communicate:

  • Assist with ad hoc projects/analysis, supporting various functional groups by verifying that assumptions, tactics and results are value-add and compatible with company goals
  • Compare actual results to budget/forecast and work with business partners to understand variance drivers
  • Collaborate with Accounting/Finance on the month-end close process and related analysis
  • Partner with IS&T to manage capital expenditures across the organization
  • Proactively interface with other finance groups to promote best practices and standardization
  • Collaborate with other business groups to gain knowledge of upcoming changes (pricing and process changes, accounting changes, etc.) that may impact forecasting and reporting processes
  • Provide formal and informal training on financial concepts and systems to team members
  • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan
  • Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Functional Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related Business field from an AACSB-accredited college or university (Advanced degree or certification such as MBA, CFA, CPA preferred but not required)
  • 2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, planning, or related experience in corporate finance, business unit finance, an accounting firm, investment banking, or consulting
  • Strong strategic, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of demonstrated quantitative and finance skills in educational and professional records
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and forecasting & planning practices. Ability to analyze complex structured and unstructured financial data and draw actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel, ERP systems (Oracle EPM), and financial planning software (Oracle EPBCS) is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to senior management and staff at varying levels (e.g., using PowerPoint and data visualization tools such as Tableau/Power BI)
  • Drive process improvements and initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations
