Verisk Property Estimating Solution is the leading provider of software solutions and services for property claims and underwriting professionals. Its newest division, Property Technology Solutions, is working to create new mobile and online solutions for Restoration, Warranty, Foreclosure, Remodeling, and Real Estate professionals.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Web Application team as a Full-Stack Software Engineer with experience in delivering SaaS applications via the cloud, working on a combination of new projects, maintenance, and support of existing on-prem web applications. As part of a small agile development team, you will significantly influence our strategy and shape the future of the product by defining product features and system architecture. Principal responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on quality coding and designing performant, efficient, and reusable solutions that meet our business goals.
  • Develop, maintain, and support applications, components, and services using current and new development technologies and techniques.
  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness.
  • Work as part of an agile team to design and launch new features.
  • Continuously help the team to improve by being actively involved in team meetings and ceremonies (architecture, refinements, retrospectives, demos, standups, etc.).
  • Partner effectively with Architect, DevOps, DBA, QA, Support, Product, and peer Platform teams.
  • Work with Development Manager, Product Team and onshore senior developers, challenge clearly & proactively and provide guidance within the team.
  • Involve in estimating work efforts and coordinate with Dev Manager, Product Team, and PM’s.
  • Mentor Junior Developers, review code and help resolve technical issues.
  • Must be proficient in RDBMS and SQL
  • Must have SSO knowledge and experience of integrating in ,Net applications
  • Involve in high-level design decisions and creating solutions.
  • Work along with Solution Architect and Involve in architecture decisions.
  • Ensure code quality.
  • Documenting code and technical specifications.
  • Participate and facilitate knowledge transfer among team.
  • Must be able to work independently or with minimum guidance.
  • Must be able and willing to participate in code reviews and document implementation.
  • Enthusiastic creator and eager to learn.
  • Effective communication.
  • Adaptability and willingness to be technical SME.
  • Flexibility to work occasional rare off-hours, weekends, or extended support, particularly in response to severe or critical issues by adapting to time zone difference.

Qualifications

Required experience:

  • 5 to 8  years of experience working on web-based applications.
  • Hands-on experience in C#, ASP.Net (MVC & Web Forms), .NET (Framework & Core), ASP.NET Web/REST API, ASMX, SignalR,  NUnit, LINQ, Entity Framework, EF Core, ADO.Net, IIS, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, AJAX,  Microsoft Visual Studio, SSO
  • Hands on experience in AWS development, specifically Batch, Lambda, S3, SQS or Azure is must.
  • Very good experience working on Java Script is must.
  • Strong SQL - Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle DB technical skills preferred.
  • Industry-standard API integrations (JSON, Restful, SOAP experience a plus).
  • Solid understanding of parallel programming, async/await, and the TPL library.
  • Kendo UI or similar.
  • EKS or Docker.
  • Excellent understanding of object-oriented design concepts and software development processes and methods.
  • Octopus or any similar deployment tool.
  • Exposure to microservices architecture.
  • Exposure to distributed systems methods and practices.
  • Exposure to continuous integration and deployment methods and practices.
  • Experience in any unit testing framework.
  • Experience in SSO.
  • Experience with source code version controlling system - Git.
  • Ability to learn quickly, teach oneself, and adapt to new technologies and opportunities.
  • Desire to be a part of a fast-moving agile team.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Knowledgeable in generating deployable artifacts, promoting changes, and aware of go-live processes.  
  • Windows Service and Cron jobs.
  • Containerization.
  • Build environment awareness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering from a four-year college or university
