Job Description

Verisk Maplecroft is looking for a Business Analyst for the Product and Technology team focused on the Financial Institutions (specifically Markets/ Investors) segment of our client base.

This role would be suitable for someone with 5-7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or a related product role within the software, asset management/ financial services, or data industry.

This role will provide business analysis services to several new and ongoing strategic and product initiatives.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Carry out business analysis activities including scoping, gap analysis, and detailed requirements definition, working closely with commercial teams and customers to understand needs
  • Drive the requirements-gathering process resulting in high-level documentation that is agreed to be concise, accurate, complete, and clear by internal and external customers as well as the development team.
  • Ensure features are delivered to scope, on time, and in the priority order as defined by the Product team
  • Maintain updated, correct and clear roadmaps for features and products and effectively communicate dependencies, blockers, and updates to key stakeholders
  • Take the lead on developing functional specifications in partnership with the Product team
  • Manage key stakeholders, making sure that their needs and expectations are met.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the business including development and management
  • Document business cases for new projects that are subsequently approved for execution
  • Become an expert in Maplecroft products, specifically oriented towards Markets/ Investor segment
  • Follow JIRA processes and ensure colleagues have all necessary information to implement requirements
  • Perform user acceptance testing and coordinate quality assurance testing as appropriate
  • Support in the development and updating of training materials and other end user support documentation
  • Be able to run feature teams as required, taking responsibility for the entire development cycle, from requirement discovery through to effective development, adequate UAT and QA testing and timely releases
  • Work effectively within the Agile framework and run effective discovery, refinement, and retrospective ceremonies
  • Act as the first line of defense for bugs and disrupters, resolving them wherever possible, triaging them when not, and owning communication with the stakeholders
  • Work with sales, support and development to make sure that our products continue to sell and delight our customers.

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • 5 to 7+ years’ experience in a related role within the software, asset management/ financial services or data industry; some experience with ESG is desirable.
  • Experience in working with / technical familiarity in SaaS and Rest API products
  • Experience of owning and successfully driving the analysis and requirements gathering process within a data services or IT arena.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and someone who enjoys the challenge of solving complex issues
  • Experience of performing gap analysis
  • Effective skills in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint is expected
  • Skills and experience in using API tools like Postman, JMeter or Swagger is desirable
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills and ability and desire to take the initiative to drive features and products to completion
