Job Description

We are looking for a Research Manager to lead our China-based members of the Commodities Global Analyst Team. This team helps produce detailed market supply-demand, cost and price forecasts at the asset, regional and global levels for Gas & LNG, Oils & Chemicals and Metals & Mining. Commodities is a fast-growing business at Wood Mackenzie and the Global Analyst Team plays a major role in supporting the transformation of this organisation. It is also a key enabler in Wood Mackenzie’s purpose to transform the way we power our planet. 

Main responsibilities

You will hire and lead a regional group of talented Consultants and Senior Consultants primarily based in Beijing and Shanghai. You will build a strong talent pipeline and support development of those analysts.

You will communicate a clear purpose and set of goals to your team and will collaborate with the Head of the Commodities Global Analyst Team and the other Research Managers to build effective hiring, onboarding and development processes for our colleagues in China and beyond. You will work closely with senior experts across the business to build strong coaching relationships across the Global Analyst Team.

In partnership with the managers of the Assets and Markets Research teams, you will ensure the efficient and timely delivery of our research programme across Gas & LNG, Oils & Chemicals and Metals & Mining

You will also identify opportunities for your direct reports in different functions (e.g. Consulting, Product, Sales) and support the wider transformation of our Commodities business.
