The Power and Renewables Research Team is a highly respected group of analysts producing market-leading research on the entire renewable energy value chain, covering onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, energy storage and power markets. Our cutting-edge knowledge of renewable supply chains, costs, deployments, and investment trends further strengthens Wood Mackenzie's offerings in the market during this rapidly changing time in the energy sector.

Role Purpose

We are looking for an Research Analyst to join Wood Mackenzie’s Power & Renewables team, covering wind and solar markets across the Middle East and Africa. The research analyst will track the market and build insights for our clients. The analyst will be responsible for market research on solar and wind markets across the Middle East and Africa. Responsibilities will include conducting original quantitative and qualitative research on the market, and delivering this analysis to clients through written reports, presentations, public speaking, addressing specific customer enquiries and through the delivery of bespoke consulting engagements. You will aggregate and summarise project level datasets, keep on top of policy developments and other market trends,  track market activity and forecast wind and solar installation volumes across the region.

You will build strong ties with key industry stakeholders and engage with clients and prospects in collaboration with our sales team. You will collaborate with other Wood Mackenzie analysts covering renewable technologies across the globe, as well as those covering power markets and commodities in the region to ensure our analysis is robust, integrated and thought-provoking.

Qualifications

You are passionate about renewable energy and come with strong knowledge and experience of the sector – ideally with a background in wind/solar in a commercial environment, with knowledge of energy markets across the Middle East and Africa. You have strong networking skills and can show that you can develop relationships with key industry stakeholders

You have an analytical mindset and an eye for detail, can think out of the box and generate new ideas, and are comfortable taking complex, disparate ideas and distilling them into simple, provocative concepts. You can communicate these ideas and concepts to audiences in an engaging way, both verbally and in writing.

You are a strong team player and a natural self-starter who can work independently. You are comfortable disrupting your routine as you will be constantly looking to learn and provide in-depth analysis of industry trends and innovative market dynamics.
