About the role

This role will form part of the Data Assets group and will work closely with our Research, Data and Product functions. The successful candidate will be help solve challenges around data management, pipelines, analysis and data quality.

The success of this role will require attention to detail, collaboration & problem solving. The core objective is to help manage and migrate workflows from legacy systems & deliver internal efficiencies through data. Ensuring we have a supportive and inclusive culture within our team is essential.

Wood Mackenzie is working with data that will transform how we power the planet. We are looking for Data Professionals to join our organisation. We have roles which are key to delivering products, transformation projects and efficiency improvements.  Working along-side subject matter experts to deliver new customer Insight and Analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Form a good understanding of the data landscape, platform, domain, business activities and customer requirements from the organisation's products and services
  • Work with the research teams to fully understand requirements of any new workflows, or the most impactful improvements to existing workflows
  • Create documentation to provide clear understanding of processes and enable migration from legacy systems
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to fulfil complex data requests on time and with high quality to derive insight or analysis.
  • Work in an agile, collaborative manner to foster an environment of continuous improvement and incremental delivery
  • Complete regular data processes and analysis, ensuring completeness, accuracy and integrity of data from various internal and external industry sources
  • Work with our Data Analytics and Automation teams to identify and automate priority workflows, delivering efficiencies and new Analytics through connected datasets and integrated pipelines

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience or background in a data related role, with understanding of core concepts around ingestion, cleansing, storage and management
  • Understanding of Relational and NoSQL Database systems, with ability to query and analyse data using SQL or other techniques
  • Experience in data process improvement, business analysis and project management
  • Knowledge of agile project methodologies, documentation, and delivery
  • Good understanding and hands on experience with visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, organisation and communication skills
  • A keen interest and passion for learning new technologies or data skills like Python
  • Basic understanding of AWS and API’s is an advantage
