Job Description

Verisk Marketing Solutions is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join our operations team. The Contracts Administrator will be a partner to the overall administration of the customer and vendor contract request processes, working closely with the commercial and business teams across VMS. This position also collaborates with the corporate Verisk teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to contract requests and negotiating best practices.  

About the Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Role 

  • Manage templates, clause library and playbooks, workflow, and other key configurations to align with evolving business needs. 
  • Manage the review, drafting, and redlining of all contract language - including Client Contracts, NDAs, Change Orders, and dispute resolutions. 
  • Provides recommendations relating to any exceptions or items of concern or caution and contributes to their negotiation. 
  • Interface with the corporate legal, finance, and other supporting cross-functional organizations to answer questions and resolve issues related to legal issues in support of transactional business. 
  • Coordinate the negotiation process in coordination with Jornaya and Verisk stakeholders. 
  • Analyze and mitigate risk based on company policies and procedures. 
  • Field and complete due diligence requests for prospects/customers, including coordination of other departments for assistance in certain areas and overall compilation of the required package to ensure timely completion.  
  • Ensure that all vendor contract information is updated and current and in support of required internal processes, including invoicing, budgeting, and renewal process negotiation/tracking. 
  • Perform vendor closing activities as needed and maintain detailed and organized files 
  • Maintain an audit file for each contract which will include the original contract, all correspondence, changes/deviations, amendments, and clarifications. 
  • Partner with Salesforce and admins to lead coordinated technical and functional requirements and user management 
  • Provide management with insightful observations and suggestions for improvement that can be achieved through contractual language and/or process improvement. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years direct, relevant experience as a contract administrator 
  • Certified Professional Contracts Administrator (CPCM) 
  • Strong working knowledge of contractual agreements (standard legal terms, contractual provisions); experience writing agreement templates and/or provisions within agreements 
  • Demonstrated high level of comfort and professionalism in working with individuals at all levels of an organization 
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills  
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized; must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently while working autonomously to meet deadlines 
  • Must be able to learn fast and apply learnings to the job 
  • Computer/technology savvy, with a strong working knowledge of the following: Salesforce, Word and Excel, Cloud-based document repository system 

Nice to Have  

  • Paralegal Certification  
  • Hands-on experience with one or more Contract Lifecycle Management tools  
  • Experience working in the Technology and Data services industry
