Verisk Maplecroft is a trusted advisor to clients from a range of sectors, including natural resources, financial services, logistics and fast-moving consumer goods. Our experienced Climate & Resilience practice is structured to provide organizations with advice based on real substance and which often leverages our unrivalled risk datasets covering over 160 issues and 198 countries globally.

We are looking for an experienced sustainability project manager to help oversee, coordinate and deliver client projects designed to achieve progressive and ambitious improvements in corporate sustainability performance, including carbon emissions and natural resource use.

As a sustainability project manager there will also be numerous opportunities to engage in a wide variety of consulting projects, contribute to Verisk Maplecroft’s subscription-based analysis and datasets, and help develop new sustainability products / solutions.

The role will involve a degree of domestic and international travel for short periods of time (i.e. days rather than weeks) to attend conferences, client meetings and/or to meet project requirements/deliverables. 

Individuals from a wide range of sustainability-related backgrounds will likely be suitable for the role, including but not limited to, environmental impact assessment (EIA), corporate or public sector environmental management and traditional sustainability consultancy.  

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • As a key member of our Climate & Resilience practice, you will work collaboratively to support Verisk Maplecroft’s global clients. This will include:
  • Project management, including scheduling, resource planning, budgeting and reporting  
  • High levels of client engagement and broader stakeholder management 
  • Application of environmental knowledge and ability to draw on and incorporate inputs from other SMEs into project deliverables
  • Oversight of structured research, analysis and data collection processes from external third parties
  • Stakeholder workshop design and facilitation 
  • Support for business development activities, including project scoping with clients, proposal writing and contributing towards engaging thought leadership material
  • Contribution towards workstreams within a variety of shorter-term environmental and social consultancy projects
     

Qualifications

 

  • At least five years experience working on environmental / sustainability issues, preferably with some experience with carbon management 
  • Demonstrable project management experience and good attention to detail
  • Strong Excel, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including capability to manage interactions on both the client-side and with internal colleagues 
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. APM or Prince 2) and/or membership of a relevant body (e.g. IEMA, CIWEM, etc) would be advantageous
