Job Description

Role Purpose

The role of the Product Specialist is to support the growth in sales (upsell, cross sell, retention & new business development) through understanding clients' workflows and providing a comprehensive bespoke training to ensure that clients extract highest value from Wood Mackenzie's research via increase in both number of users and their usage.

Working as part of the Customer Organisation within the overall Sales function, the Product Specialist will work across the Customer Organisation and across other teams including Sales, Research, Data, Product and Marketing to deliver a consistent client message. The role will involve travel within the EMEA region.

 Role Focus and Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with clients via training sessions and other activities to increase users, usage and support cross sell, upsell, retention and new business development
  • Build and maintain a strong network of relationships with key contacts across our user base to understand their roles and workflows
  • Demonstrate excellence in analyzing client needs, and creating tailored workflow solutions that maximize the value of Wood Mackenzie content to clients
  • Engage in commercially-focused client discussions to influence product, service and overall Wood Mackenzie business development
  • Show quantitative and qualitative measures of engagement and training effectiveness, both from a client and commercial perspective
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Research and Consulting teams to ensure consistent best-in-class servicing of our clients
  • Ensure a timely and comprehensive response to client needs
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and creative approaches to increasing client engagement
  • Record and share all activities, information and materials with colleagues
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Wood Mackenzie research offerings
  • Develop a reasonable knowledge of energy, metals and mining, chemicals and other commodities including the companies active in those industries

Qualifications

Knowledge & Experience:

You will:

  • Have experience in a Product Specialist / Customer Success role within a B2B sales, data analytics or SaaS based solutions organisation
  • Have experience of developing a deep understanding of customer workflows and needs
  • Have experience of Customer Success Platforms, Strikedeck in particular, will be an advantage
  • Have a proven track record in collaborating with different internal teams in order to achieve commercial success
  • Be passionate about delivering high quality service to customers and have a genuine interest in developing and growing themselves
  • Have an intellectual curiosity and aptitude towards the growing fields of data and data analytics and how these tools help clients solve business critical issues.
  • Show effective organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage own workload effectively
  • Have strong presentation, public speaking, communication and training skills
  • Be highly self-motivated
  • Gain extra points if you have experience in oil & gas, energy, or natural resources
