Job Description

Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) is actively seeking an entry-level DevOps Engineer to support our Space Weather R&D team in Albuquerque, NM.  As a member of the data center support team you will be the primary interface between the software development team and cloud / on-prem data centers, providing the infrastructure tools for facilitating all aspects of the software development life-cycle.  The work will be performed at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Kirtland Air Force Base.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

-               providing systems support for developer tools

-               configuring and maintaining continuous integration

-               developing scripts and automated tests

-               deployment on standard server architectures, virtual machines, and cloud infrastructure

Qualifications

-       Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

-       1 year of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud providers

-       1 year of proven experience with Linux Administration, LAMP stack, Type 1 and Type 2 Hypervisors, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and processes.

-       Knowledge of multiple monitoring tools and how to mine them for advanced data

-       Proficient in the following: Bash, YAML, XML / JSON, REST APIs, HTTP Get and Post

-       Demonstrated understanding of development tools and workflow, such as network connectivity and security.

-       Proven experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment technologies: such as GitLab / Jenkins, Maven, Docker.

-       Must have passion for technology and focused on automation.

-       DoD IT Level II 8570 compliant (within 60 days) and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
