Job Description

You should view this as a position that will allow you to help shape the future of the energy industry with new and innovative solutions. This will be a highly visible position that will require the passion of a software developer, critical thinking of an engineer, heart of a teacher, and soul of an entrepreneur. Main Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and implement business automation workflows and cloud infrastructure to appropriately support the Petrotranz suite of products.
  • Review, research, and recommend new technologies and best practices throughout the existing Petrotranz product CI/CD pipelines.
  • Participate in technical infrastructure discussions with other development team members to ensure all Petrotranz products are properly supported.
  • Own the provisioning and maintenance of all Petrotranz hardware and infrastructure.
  • Lead technical support for all the Petrotranz products.
  • Actively debug, problem solve, and triage issues discovered in existing Petrotranz products.
  • Enthusiastically collaborate with the customer success team to uphold the highest level of customer support.
  • Provide technical support when needed to internal and external client stakeholders.
  • Provide reports and updates to the Senior Research Manager as required.


We are seeking an individual with 5+ years of DevOps and\or software development experience. This will be a hands-on, DevOps\Software Development position with an opportunity to participate in and make a positive impact on Petrotranz’ success. To be successful in this position, you will need to drive forward the core elements and integrations of not only the existing, but also future Petrotranz software products.

Core Competencies

  • A minimum of 5+ years industry related experience.
  • You should have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or related experience.
  • You must have analytical, qualitative, and logical problem-solving skills.
  • You must be professional and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • You can multi-task and are extremely organized.
  • Solid experience building enterprise-level continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices and serverless architecture.
  • Familiarity in automating repetitive development processes.
  • Must have proficiency with build servers and automated deployment tools (TeamCity, Octopus, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Strong experience with the following: Microsoft Azure, AWS or other cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with .NET, C#, JSON, JSON Schema, RESTful APIs, HTML, OAuth2, XML, XSD, Web Services, Microsoft SQL Server, Git, NodeJs, NPM/Yarn, Terraform, React, Xamarin, would be considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with the Agile methodology, continuous discovery and delivery would also be considered an asset.
  • Ability to manage expectations of stakeholders.
