Job Description

Field Agents are part of Wood Mackenzie’s Sensor Network Operations team that operate a network of private easements, power line sensors, and infrared cameras spread across the U.S. This position includes: frequent travel, dealing with private landowners, contract negotiations, and technical work on stand-alone power line sensor installation and maintenance. Including managing travel to site, materials required, site data entry, and root cause analysis of equipment requiring service.

Wood Mackenzie owns and operates a growing international network of 5000+ sensors collecting real-time data on commodity sectors: energy, metals/mining, shipping, and manufacturing. Wood Mackenzie’s proprietary monitoring systems measure millions of data points per day.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

Qualifications

  • Ability to: interact, negotiate and communicate effectively with private landowners
  • Ability to perform technical work that will include the physical installation and maintenance of low voltage power line sensors and infrared cameras
  • Ability to travel out of state during the week. M-F travel only, home every weekend
  • Assist and perform evaluation of monitoring system, and make recommendations for site improvements related to site requirements and operating costs
  • Ability to: read and interpret contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, mapping tools, and other relevant reports and correspondence
  • Ability to: operate office tools and submit weekly expense reports
  • Ability to: communicate thoughts, ideas, information, messages, and other written information, which may contain technical material, in a logical, organized, and coherent manner
  • Experience with common hand tools. Drills, screwdriver, pliers, multi-meter, sockets/wrenches
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or job related experience preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Weekly travel anywhere in the lower 48 states. Home every weekend
  • After training we usually balance flight weeks and home region work weeks
  • Field Agent will have a home region with approximately 250 sensors in area

Driving

  • Field Agent will be provided a company truck that may be driven home
  • You MUST have a safe driving record and valid driver's license

Working Conditions/Environment

  • Employee is subject to outdoor and indoor environmental conditions
  • Occasionally working on a ladder or man lift, always adhering to OSHA safety standards

  • All travel costs covered, flights, hotels, food per diem
  • Everything needed to work efficiently
