Job Description

We’re looking for UX Researchers of all levels to join our team; whether you are a graduate looking for your first UX role, or an experienced professional looking for that next career challenge, we need you to support the development of our products. You’ll have the support of the team but the autonomy to lead customer research, validating concepts and our teams work with our customers themselves. Our design team is centrally located in our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices. Woodmac’s ongoing digital transformation aims to redefine how customers interact with our comprehensive, industry-leading data. We work with the latest technologies; you can expect to collaborate with designers in Figma and see our customer research repository and analysis held in Dovetail. We’re not afraid to challenge our own assumptions, iterating on different ways of working just as we would products for our customers.

As a User Researcher, you’ll have be a conduit between Design, Product and Engineering. You’ll inform key stakeholders on the strength of new concepts, the performance of existing functionality and keep track of users’ needs and can communicate how the work we’re doing is meeting those.

Qualifications

•         You have experience working with teams who develop web applications, ideally in an agile team and can show examples of when your research has been part of the agile process. - You have effective verbal and written communication skills coupled with a keen eye for detail and can translate your findings into UX deliverables (e.g. Personas, Experience Maps, User Journeys et a.l.)

•         You have experience with both quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis

•         You understand different research methods, psychology principles, behavioural frameworks and when and how to apply them to improve product development

•         You have experience in gathering stakeholder requirements and have the confidence to champion research as a critical part of the process

•         We expect our team to share early and share often. If you think it's ready you’ve waited too long. You’ll be comfortable articulating your process and championing what you think is right.
