Job Description

We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Data Analyst to assist in the data engineering team’s analytical, strategical, and operational tasks. You will work alongside the data, engineering, and business team to provide expertise on data management, which includes but not limited to governance, profiling, validation and reporting of data. The candidate will analyze, profile, and model data as well as help ingest the data, troubleshoot, and investigate data anomalies and/or issues while working directly with cross functional teams.   • Hands on proficiency in SQL is a must 

  • Proficient in MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint 

  • Experience with cloud/AWS 

  • Experience with data modeling 

  • Creative problem-solving skills with result-oriented mindset 

  • Analytical, organized, and proactive mindset with attention to details 

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, data dictionaries, metadata repositories 

  • Experience with Python or a relevant programming language is a plus 

  • Familiarity with ETL concepts is a plus 

  • Individual contributor who can work under very minimum supervision 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Experience with Insurance business domain is a plus  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or relevant fields 

  • Minimum 4-5 years of data management experience 

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional business and technical teams equally efficiently, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data from multiple data sources 

  • Investigate and perform complex analyses on disparate datasets using data profiling skills and coming up with the best practices to maintain data consistency, completeness, accuracy, and standardization 

  • Make automation recommendations for the smooth ingestion, massaging and dissemination of data 

  • Ability to collaborate with product owners and business users to understand the requirements and incorporate the feedback in the system and process 

  • Ensure the data quality using data validation checks and performing data QA on the implemented data processes 

  • Collaborate with data office to align the project deliverables with strategic data initiatives 

  • Ability to write mappings documents within and across datasets 

  • Create reports for internal teams and/or external clients 

  • Experience in Data cataloging, Data visualization and Data lineage 

  • Strong cognitive ability to prioritize, streamline, implement and communicate data deliveries and risks
