Job Description
The Writer, Insurance Innovation, supports the marketing of Commercial Lines Underwriting Solutions at Verisk and is an expert at transforming complex information into broadly accessible and compelling communications.
Responsible for developing a wide range of written materials that promote Verisk’s solutions and thought leadership to the small commercial insurance market.
Responsibilities:
- Research and write articles, white papers, video scripts, emails, social media copy and other marketing materials in support of Verisk’s underwriting solutions for the small commercial insurance market.
- Develop messaging in collaboration with the product and marketing teams.
- Deliver clear, concise, and compelling writing on tight deadlines in accordance with standards for quality and timeliness.
- Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects to ensure deadlines are met.
- Continually refine writing to improve content performance.
- Act as a project leader for assigned marketing communications programs, including marketing planning as required and budgeting.
- Assist in identifying, coordinating, and implementing projects that accomplish the division’s messaging goals and marketing needs.
- Proofread content from other writers and marketing colleagues as assigned.
- Perform all core requirements of the position and all special projects and other duties as assigned with certain degree of autonomy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree — preferably in English, journalism, marketing, or communications or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in print or online journalism, writing content on a frequent basis.
- Comfortable reading and translating complex statistical research into highly accessible articles and reports.
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to interact, collaborate, and communicate effectively with individuals of all levels across areas.
- Superior analytical and promotional marketing skills. Good working knowledge of communications technology, marketing analytics, SEO, and various social media.
- Ability to learn and adapt to continuously changing priorities.
- Must be highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools.
- Knowledge of property/casualty insurance or strong desire to learn about insurance required.
