    The DevOps Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Information Technology Department including the development, maintenance and control of computer hardware and software and the care and safekeeping of company information stored on computer devices. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with the Cloud Operations Team to enhance existing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery frameworks.  The DevOps Engineer works in conjunction with the Software Development teams to develop, test, build and deploy software.

    Being an DevOps Engineer at PowerAdvocate is a pretty sweet gig.  We work under Continuous Flow, a type of Agile development method that empowers developers and DevOps Engineer’s alike to control the size of their workload, meaning that you’ll never be trying to beat a deadline somebody else made for you. The team environment and pair programming allow entry level Engineers and senior Engineers to work together on the same tasks, making the same decisions that affect the software that goes into production.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    In addition to the following, other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

    • Be familiar with our products and platform
    • Manage source control systems such as Git
    • Utilize automation systems such as GitLab, Docker and Ansible for CI/CD
    • Enhance and execute Linux Bash or Windows PowerShell scripts
    • Manage AWS cloud-based infrastructure and services

    Qualifications

    • Must have a minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, or related technical degree
    • Exposure to deployment automation software such as GitLab, Ansible, Chef or Puppet a plus
    • Exposure to source control systems such as Git is a plus
    • Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure and services (AWS, Google Cloud, …, etc.) is a plus
    • Proficiency with Linux Environments (Redhat and Debian based distros) preferred
    • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
    • Has good organization and communication skills
    • Works well in a team environment
