Job Description

The QA & Test Analyst II will evaluate and test software programs to verify functionality according to specifications and standards. Interact constructively and professionally with customers, Development, and other QA Analysts.  Assist the QA Managers by fielding inbound customer escalation calls, assuming testing projects for specific product functionality, and contributing to the knowledge and effectiveness of the QA team.  Assist the QA Managers and QA Analysts of greater experience to ensure deadlines are met and products are of the highest quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Write and execute test plans for tasks, projects, and development cycles.
  • Write, maintain, and execute test cases.
  • Perform ad hoc/exploratory testing.
  • Perform tests in different environments (e.g. browsers, OS’s, devices, etc.).
  • Test the interaction between different products.
  • Train and Mentor other Quality Analysts.
  • Investigate and resolve customer and internal issues escalated by other departments.
  • Test and verify defects that have been hot fixed in production environments.
  • Log, track, and verify defect using provided defect tracking tools.
  • Provide additional leadership under the direction and in the absence of the PTM.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or 4 years relevant experience and training.
  • Extensive understanding of testing methodologies and technologies (e.g. smoke, regression, component, integrations, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively construct moderately complex instructions, email correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to present and illustrate thoughts in one-on-one and small-group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows, SQL, Testing Tools (e.g. scripting tools, defect tracking tools, etc.), and MS Office applications.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent interaction with QA members,  members of other Xactware subsidiaries, and customers
  • Occasional travel
  • General office working conditions and environment
  • Occasional exceptional hours as needed to meet deadlines
