Job Description

Verisk 3E is looking for a Senior Writer/Editor (Regulatory Research) to join the team in Bethesda, MD, although we will consider fully remote candidates in the US.

In this role, you will write and edit content for various EHS topics related to related to global regulations, chemicals, food and flavors, or cosmetics, to name a few.  Since this role will handle global topics, being bilingual is a plus!

Regulatory Research & Analysis:

  • Lead and manage 3E news content (including working with various regulatory experts/ analysts and departments, editing other writers’ work, etc.).
  • Manage and conduct legal/regulatory research for monitoring and tracking global regulatory changes and up & coming regulations (emerging regulatory developments).
  • Analyze various legal/ regulatory requirements for various issues/ industries (e.g. chemicals, food, environment, consumer products, product stewardship, etc.).
  • Write regulatory news/ reports and industry trends for global regulatory coverage for 3E’s regulatory news/ alerts product line (including content editing for any write-ups)

Client Support:

  • Provide regulatory support consultation for clients (including answering clients’ inquiries, conducting quality assurance for 3E news related products, etc.)
  • Represents 3E as a regulatory resource for company sponsored webinars, and participates in industry associations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or International Affairs Required;  Master’s degree or J.D. highly preferred
  • 8-12 years experience in technical writing for chemicals products compliance, EHS, product stewardship, and in monitoring up and coming regulatory requirements required
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required (including editorial experience)
  • Journalism background or experience preferred
  • Fluent in at least one of foreign languages in addition to English is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, regulatory research and writing skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills required
  • Regulatory/legal/legislative background highly required
  • Experience in industrial chemicals and/or food compliance space is a plus
  • Experience in project management required
  • Experience in regulatory risk and analysis and/or regulatory compliance preferred
  • Able to work both independently with a high degree of efficiency and as part of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Able to identify issue/ problem and provide answer/ solution (problem-solving thinking required)
