Job Description

We are looking for a Data Analyst at Jornaya to join our Analytics Team and provide insightful and actionable insights to Jornaya customers and Jornayans, through analytics visualizations and reports. In this role, the individual will develop analyses of our company’s business data and data products to drive value for external and internal stakeholders. The analyst’s duties will range from completing custom, client-specific analyses; creating analytics product POCs, and delivering standardized analytics solutions that scale across our business. The role is cross-functional in nature, requiring the individual to collaborate with product management, market-facing teams and clients and with engineers and data scientists who work in the backend building our technology infrastructure. This individual will always have an eye towards automation, standardization and continuous improvement, looking for ways to automate analyses and create reporting and visualizations that scale across our business. They will be joining an Analytics Team comprised of strong data analysts who collaborate with each other to create a successful environment where each individual can achieve success, thereby achieving team and company success.

About the Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Develop data analyses to answer key business questions posed by stakeholders.
  • Proactively seek to understand the “why” behind analyses and the business value and opportunities behind projects
  • Create and automate internal analytics for all Jornaya departments, informing strategic and tactical business decisions.
  • Consistently deliver value to the market through both product analytics and custom analytics that may turn into product analytics
  • Utilize analytical tools like Tableau, SQL, AWS, R, and more to deliver results to our stakeholders
  • Communicate with stakeholders to clarify analysis complexities and to deliver results that are easy for them and their audiences to understand
  • Navigate through ambiguity to create new and better analytics that enable customers and Jornaya to be successful
  • Identify, utilize, and unify multiple data sources that are in different locations needed to answer project prompts
  • Design data sources for reporting accounting for future enhancements needed and various complexities of the data
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize our data and analytics processes.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analytics, business intelligence, and/or reporting experience in the SaaS and/or data space; consumer finance and insurance experience preferred
  • A strong passion and experience in data analysis and utilizing analytics tools like SQL, Tableau, R, or others to answer different questions using data
  • A strong passion for solving complex problems and creating value for internal & external customers through data, visualizations, and reporting
  • Ability to design, deliver, and communicate easily understood and/or visually intuitive stories about data analyses for end customers regardless of technical/analytical acumen.
  • Ability to proactively engage with and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels with a strong business acumen
  • Strong understanding of and skills in data cleansing, handling various data set sizes, descriptive statistical analysis, optimal data source structures, and data visualization
  • Attention to detail - does not let important details slip through the cracks or derail a project
  • Speaks and writes clearly and concisely for different audiences
  • Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, ask for guidance where needed and keep stakeholders informed of progress
  • Enjoys wearing multiple hats and stepping outside of the typical job function to help customers and/or Jornaya colleagues when necessary.
  • Thrives in a fast-moving agile environment, where making progress is valued over perfection
