Job Description

JOB TITLE: Managing Director, New Verticals

DEPARTMENT: Management Consulting / Client Services

LOCATIONS: Anywhere in the United States

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The ideal candidate will be able to identify prospects and activate consulting projects in New Verticals (sectors that are electrifying their business operations outside of the energy and mining industries) and demonstrate and accelerate the use of PowerAdvocate Technology and Data to support those transformations.   Examples of New Verticals include but are not limited to Automotive, Small Parcel Transportation, Fleet, and Waste Management.  In addition to the following, other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Lead the growth of Client Services projects across North America in New Verticals through an existing network of contacts in more than one New Vertical
  • Experience in segmenting markets and identifying ideal customer partners, and executing outreach to those firms
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with affiliates or partners who support the delivery of client projects
  • Create customized solutions that deliver against customer needs in partnership with the leaders of the data and technology business
  • Drive the development and execution of cost-effective supply chain strategies
  • Manage client relationships by from the C-Suite to Supply Chain, Project Management, Engineering and Business Development
  • In addition to revenue requirements, achieve Client Services objectives and key results including, for example, the development of client services personnel through training, group meetings and the review process

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Senior management consultant (former principal or partner at consulting firm) with experience interacting with client executives, selling projects, and working across multiple sectors including logistics, transportation, fleet, or other sectors that are undergoing significant electrification of their supply chains
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and policy debates
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a dynamic, cohesive team and to work effectively in a team environment
  • Results driven; enjoys the challenge of a changing business environment
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Willingness to travel (post-COVID restrictions)

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s a plus
  • 10+ years of experience with Owners or Suppliers serving industries that are currently electrifying their business operations, particularly in a Business Operations or Engineering function and experience in Renewables, Energy Storage, and ESG
  • Proven success contributing to a team-oriented environment both as an individual contributor and a team leader
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt based on the needs of clients and PowerAdvocate
