Job Description

Role purpose: Management Accountant, reporting to the FC and CFO, with responsibility month and year end accounting, AP and AR processes and day to day financial activities.  Ownership over finance processes, ensuring reporting deadlines and audit requirements are met, Company processes followed, and continual improvements made.

Main responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Finance team, Executive team and wider business with Finance and Accounting requirements.
  • Adherence to Company policy and SOX.
  • Product Reporting: Development and ongoing improvement of Product Line Accounting working in conjunction with different departments across the business.
  • Budget & Reporting: Review and improvement of Monthly GL/BS/P&L reconciliations.
  • Revenue: Completing variance analysis, deferred and accrued reviews, formal month end reviews, revenue summary and journal preparation.
  • Supporting the FC in the month end process – recording and reviewing all revenue in accordance with Group Policy, US GAAP and SOX.
  • Supporting the CFO and FC in the continual growth and development of the Finance function.
  • Responsibility for preparation of various reports, KPIs and analysis included in the Executive Reporting Pack.
  • Running Accounts Receivable: Responsible for the AR process (Contract reviews, billing & invoicing, credit control), applying continual improvements and managing process with other members of finance team.
  • Audit – Supporting the FC in all areas of audits (internal and external).
  • Development Capitalisation – Supporting the FC in all areas of DevCap.
  • Any other duties commensurate to the grade of the role.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, AAT or CIMA).
  • Minimum of 4 – 6 years’ experience in a similar sized finance team.
  • Experience of time management and project recording systems.
  • Experience of working as a Financial Accountant, Management Accountant or similar.
  • Experience of working in a data/technology/software company.
  • People Soft/Basware/Concur/Oracle.
  • Excellent Excel skills. 
  • Ability to take ownership and be responsible for actions, with an ability to get things done.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively (written and verbal) both within and outside of the finance function.
  • Ability to meet both personal objectives and overall priorities for the team.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Well-developed time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Motivation to continue career progression
