Job Description

Role Purpose:To successfully deliver Sequel Claims for our clients, to scope, to budget, on time and to optimal quality standards.

The project manager is responsible for leading and managing project teams, using proven and established methodologies to ensure success for clients.

Client Delivery & Commercial Accountability

  • Accountability for client full-lifecycle project deliveries, for Sequel Claims
  • Alongside the Account Management team, undertaking client relationship management, from prospect and onboarding, through project and engagement management, to project closure
  • Identifying, progressing and supporting ongoing client needs, through the development of commercial proposals that serve to support the delivery and advancement of clients’ strategic aims
  • Establishing professional credibility and providing assurance to clients, internal delivery teams and management
  • Developing a climate of trust and integrity, building strong relationship with customers and project teams
  • Managing challenges and possible conflicts with absolute professionalism

Project Management

  • Developing and deploying appropriate and proven methodologies and governance frameworks
  • Working with the team to produce credible and accurate project estimates
  • Participating in the creation of project Statements of Works, with pre-sales and the Head of Delivery
  • Developing and managing project delivery plans, incl. resource, finance and activity plans
  • Producing, maintaining and ensuring the internal and client agreement of all project controls, including Terms of Reference, project logs, plans, reports, etc.
  • Supporting project team members in the production and management of project documentation and products, through drafting and internal reviews to client approval, testing and assurance
  • Developing, agreeing and deploying strategies to ensure optimal communications, risk and issue, change and quality management
  • Leading and supporting a cross-functional delivery team, resolving any problems, and maintaining morale by doing so with integrity
  • Maintaining an awareness of ‘continuous improvement’ during engagements and ensuring project delivery has this at its heart

Qualifications

Must Have

  • Proven track record of >7years successful delivery of full-lifecycle client, or internal cross-functional, technical, projects, or projects with a large technical component
  • Experience of leading the software development lifecycle in a range of methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc.)
  • Certified practitioner in PMI, ACP, Prince 2, or similar
  • Experience of London Insurance Market, or similarly regulated sector 
  • Numerate and literate, comfortable in reporting to Board-level
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages, incl. Project, Visio, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • Insurance domain knowledge is advantageous
  • Tertiary education (university degree) in an IT discipline will be highly favourable, but is not essential
