Job Description

Role Purpose:

Sequel has a defined cloud hosting strategy which has backing at Verisk Group level, and this will drive considerable growth in the hosting area. Capacity demand needs to be prioritised to ensure the service can scale to the aligned timelines and to prevent bottlenecks, encouraging a slick customer experience throughout the sales process.

The introduction of this role to the CEM team will solely focus on bolstering the presales hosting service to increase capacity and efficiency in the overall sales/quoting for hosting process. This successful candidate will not be involved with day-to-day operational duties in the hosting area, responsibilities will focus on:

  • client engagement during the sales process
  • high level topology collation
  • quoting/pre-sale cost forecasting
  • a key part of the RFI/RFP process and ensuring the presales team/sales executives/account management team are supported with all items up to the point of signing a hosting contract.

It will be key for the individual to understand the Sequel product portfolio, AWS cloud landscape and awareness of the Sequel/Verisk architecture (to ensure suitable/acceptable hosting design is considered, and not to introduce any operational/security risk to the service in the services offered to clients).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gather and assess client’s business needs and technical requirements and define the appropriate cloud hosting solutions
  • Work with the sales team and Head of CEM to develop and support the client relationships throughout the customer journey
  • Address customer’s questions in a clear and comprehensive manner to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide inputs to the RFP process, when required
  • Provide customer specific industry domain expertise during the sales process
  • Conduct solutions workshops as part of the sales process
  • Ability to identify customer challenges and quantify the associated value of the Sequel/Verisk solutions
  • Manage and deliver compelling product demonstrations/presentations to prospective clients for hosting related items
  • Work with product management, internal services teams, and external solution/services partners to optimize client value
  • Provide consistent and effective communication, both internally and externally
  • Generate hosting quotes in a timely manner
  • Sophisticated sales material for hosting / cloud related items ·
  • Mature cost models whenever possible ·
  • Supporting the Head of CEM with pre signing client engagement

Qualifications

Essential IT fundamentals

  • Be able to develop a strong awareness of the Sequel Product Suite and its accompanying infrastructure, within several months have good product knowledge of the Sequel products and their hosting profile
  • University degree or equivalent professional experience preferred in a Solution Consulting, Business Consulting, Sales Engineering or Business Development client facing role
  • 4+ years of solution consulting experience in a SaaS / IaaS / PaaS based environment
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to present both business and technical topics to individuals at all levels of an organization
  • Proven consultative and value-based selling skills and experience.
  • Strong sales instincts and enjoys speaking with prospective clients in all stages of the sales cycle
  • Must have a demonstrated track record of sales achievement, technical competence, and customer satisfaction
  • Great team player and collaborator
  • Must have exceptionally strong technical sales experience
  • Good knowledge of Cloud hosting architecture
  • Have strong security landscape knowledge and industry standard awareness (ISO27001, SOC, PCI etc.)
  • Must have the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Technically adept and able to quickly learn new technologies and software.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Flexible, Pro-Active and able to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • The ideal candidate will have both a business and technical background that enables them to drive and lead a technical team
  • Have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about deployment services
  • A strong relationship builder within the team, clients
  • Awareness of technical architecture board (ensuring bespoke requests are agreed by architect resource)

Additional useful skills:

  • Industry sector experience
  • Ideally have finance or insurance / ”insure-tech” industry experience
