Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Business Analyst will provide a service to relevant stakeholders – internal and external covering all aspects of managing and delivering a project including the project plan, governance, interdependencies, quality assurance, benefits realisation and resources.   

This is a pivotal role which is responsible for all aspects of system readiness to underpin successful delivery of technology in line with client strategy.

In addition, the Business Analyst will assume management of pre and post implementation activities; from the implementation of a successful user training model to managing all activities associated with product release.  This role requires extensive Business Analyst experience and an excellent knowledge of the end-to-end insurance property claims management process.  With an understanding of property estimating and pricing in the building and construction industry, the Business Analyst will have excellent attention to detail, be highly organised and will understand the importance of team work.

This is a specialised role that requires a professional and articulate approach to manage all aspects of product delivery.

Essential Functions:

  • Developing and achieving agreement to the Project Terms of Reference document or equivalent, and monitoring progress against it, to ensure that the defined benefits are delivered. 
  • Preparing functional specifications for development, configuration, documentation changes and requirements to satisfy regional or client needs. 
  • Testing the application to confirm minimum level of functionality for AU market or client needs and documenting testing and resolving application issues (defects and bugs). 
  • Responsible for the creation, execution and delivery of software training programs across tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 insurers, intermediaries, and supply chain. 
  • Complete implementation related activities, as instructed by the General Manager – Australia & New Zealand.  This may include, but is not limited to:

- Planning, coordination, management, execution and implementation of development activities and projects. This includes management of strategy, structure, processes, documentation, prioritization and reporting. 

- Assist in the management of Xactware product implementation into client sites. 

- Identify and manage problems, risks and issues which may affect a successful product implementation. 

- Provide user support as required (telephony and onsite). 

- Provide support in additional specialty research and preparation of other construction and/or software related projects (ie: assist in pricing research). 

  • Completion of administrative and other duties as directed by your manager. 
  • Represents the Verisk/Xactware brand and values at all times.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

1.      Minimum 3 years in a Business Analyst role (or similar), preferably within the insurance industry.

2.      Formal insurance or building and construction qualification will be highly regarded.

3.      A comprehensive understanding of the software development and release process.

4.      Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal.

5.      Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.

6.      Excellent organisational skills; detail oriented.

7.      Ability to work in a team and contribute to the strength and cohesiveness of the team.

8.      Ability to work alone and be productively self-motivated.

9.      Professional appearance, demeanor, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.

10.   Professionalism under high stress and quick deadlines.

11.   Excellent time management skills.

Working Conditions:

1.      Ability to travel at short notice is a must to successfully fulfill this position; both domestic and international travel will be required.

2.      General office working conditions and environment; office located in Melbourne CBD.

3.      Must be flexible and willing to work additional hours when required.
