Job Description

What is Rulebook and what is Rulebook Product Configuration?

Rulebook is a highly configurable rules engine that provides software for the insurance industry including pricing, rating, websites, and web services to distribute insurance products.  The core software is written by the Rulebook Core team.  The Rulebook Product Configuration team then configures generic standards, and also specific client implementations by creating Rules, data definitions, matrices, forms, services etc. 

DevOps requirement for Rulebook Product team: 

  • Work alongside Rulebook Core to take standard CI/CD pipelines to maintain and change existing customer environments
  • Creating new pipelines to automate release mechanisms of Rulebook Configuration between environments.
    • Taking existing building blocks and understanding the PowerShell “hooks” that Rulebook has to automate releases
    • E.g. extract config from SysTest to UAT, and run automated test scripts etc.
  • Become a technical expert in Rulebook Installations and help with troubleshooting environmental issues
  • Document DevOps processes for Rulebook Product Configuration team

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required
  • 2-3 years of proven experience with Linux Administration, Windows Administration, and IIS Management. Deep understanding of IIS concepts and settings
  • 2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) – EC2, S3, CloudFormation, CLI, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDb
  • Deep knowledge of multiple monitoring tools and how to mine them for advanced data
  • Proficient in: Bash, Chef, Powershell, Python, XML, Web concepts such as REST APIs and SPA, HTTP Get and Post
  • Demonstrated mastery of Development tools and methodologies, such as Firewall concepts, network connectivity, XML config files, Rest API calls, HTTP Headers and Response Codes
  • Deep experience and knowlegde with Continuous Integration/Deployment Technologies: Atlassian Bamboo, Octopus Deploy, MSBuild, NUnit, GIT, Maven, Docker
  • Must have passion for technology and focused on automation
