As a member of the software development team, you will help build, enhance and troubleshoot AIR’s casualty analytics platform, Arium. You are expected to work in an agile team to help plan and design new features, write clean, testable and performing code, provide automated tests, as well as resolve customer issues.

Your responsibilities:

• Be a key member of the Agile team in the delivery of our suite of innovative applications.
• Design and develop our infrastructure as a code to produce software that is scalable, robust, and efficient.
• Design and develop the back-end microservices and API
• Proactively improve development process by implementing the best practices for SDLC
• Identify and propose process and system improvements
• Act as an interface between software engineers and other stakeholders in the organization

Must-have qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline
• Several years of hands-on software development experience in the AWS cloud environment, preferably with CDK
• Hands-on experience with back-end development, preferably with JavaScript/Typescript
• A strong communicator and problem solver
• Good command of English in a software engineering context

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Experience with serverless microservice architecture including AWS Lambda, Step Functions, S3, API Gateway, RDS
• Software development with Python/JAVA
• Relational/NoSQL databases knowledge
• Experience with agile development frameworks (SCRUM, Kanban)
• Practical skills with continuous integration/deployment
• Basic understanding of probability and/or insurance-related concepts
