Job Description

Casualty Analytics Lead

Arium, part of AIR Worldwide, is looking for a highly passionate analytical individual to join the team in our London office. Arium provides new and cutting-edge modelling capabilities of complex commercial liability risks to the global insurance and reinsurance community. 
You will use your technical and analytical skills and (re)insurance knowledge to support the AIR client managers and help clients understand how to use Arium to deliver real business insights and a range of outputs.   You will work closely with the software development and product teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day back up model and technical know-how to help account managers working with clients use Arium and understand Arium’s catastrophe model and output.
  • Provide model and technical expertise to support clients using Arium and understanding Arium’s liability catastrophe model and output, and act as the internal expert on Arium for client managers and business development. 
  • Communicate directly with clients on relevant technical or product road map developments
  • Add value to modelled results through customisation of input and output tailored to the needs of clients.
  • Help clients reliably assess and manage their catastrophe loss potential through interpretation of modelling results.
  • Recommend new approaches to risk management for Arium clients. 
  • Help clients use Arium insights to enhance their portfolio management, pricing, reinsurance strategy, and capital modeling decisions. to ensure our clients are extracting the maximum value from the Arium platform
  • Keep on top of trends in the market relating to casualty / liability modelling. 
  • Actively participate in driving product development and soliciting feedback from stakeholders. 
     

Qualifications

 

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, a solid understanding of probability concepts, excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to client support
  • A significant track record of success in insurance / reinsurance, some of which in the London Market, preferably in casualty / liability as an actuary, analyst, underwriter or risk manager
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills are also required.
  • Desirable: ability to code in R and / or Python, or SQL would be helpful but is not essential. 

Education:

  • Applicants should have a minimum of an undergraduate (BSc) degree, or equivalent professional experience
