Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

Ensure the overall quality and customer satisfaction for the product(s) for which your team is responsible through analysis of design / requirements documentation, required testing and Production implementation. Contribute to continuously improving the quality of your team’s development and testing processes. Collaborate with business and technical representatives to provide input on established requirements / specifications and standards for bug fixes and enhancements for your team’s product(s). Actively valuate and test software programs to verify functionality against established requirements / specifications and development and security standards to ensure the product(s) work as expected. Actively collaborate with Developers Product and other Quality Assurance team members to ensure project delivery deadlines are met. Act as a representative of the Quality Assurance team to customers and other departments in coordinating efforts, fielding concerns, and prioritizing work.

  1.   Functionally test new features, improvements, and fixes
  2.   Assist with clarifying requirements for new features, improvements, and fixes
  3.   Create (with limited supervision), maintain and execute test cases and test plans to ensure expected results are met
  4.   Perform and assist with exploratory and ad-hoc testing (with limited supervision) and log defects or enhancements following established guidelines
  5.   Perform required testing duties across assigned products, platforms, and environments
  6.   Gather/prepare data for testing complex scenarios, features and workflows
  7.   Collaborate and contribute to team goals, projects and initiatives
  8.   Track features, improvements, and fixes through the entire development process
  9.   Investigate and resolve issues escalated by customers and other departments
  10.   Help the team identify and implement process improvements
  11.   Completes all responsibilities as outlined on the annual Performance Plan through continuous communication and feedback
  12.   Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned
  13.   Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

  1.      2+ years of Quality Assurance experience and training; Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent certifications preferred
  2.      Strong understanding of Quality Assurance testing techniques and best practices
  3.      Strong understanding of testing methodologies and technologies (e.g. Regression, Functional, Acceptance, Automation, Ad-Hoc, Exploratory, Security and Performance)
  4.      General coding experience or test automation knowledge and capabilities
  5.      Strong knowledge of the department’s products and basic knowledge of other Xactware products
  6.      Strong knowledge and experience with the property insurance industry
  7.      Proven ability to critical think, challenge assumptions, and find software deficiencies and enhancements to improve overall customer satisfaction
  8.      Detail-Oriented and strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small-group situations with customers, team members, management and other employees
  9.      Displaying a “do what it takes” approach to meeting project delivery deadlines, including willingness to work occasional exceptional hours.
  10.   Knowledge of operating systems, web browsers, databases, mobile devices, development tools and approaches, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), defect tracking, task tracking tools, and MS Office applications
